  • How am I reacting? (Sunday 5.25.08 )
    James 4: 4; Mat 5: 10, 13-16; 1 John 2: 16
    How do I respond to the circumstances going on around me? Jesus said
    that we are the Salt of the earth; and He shows us how to react in a
    darkened troubled world. Jesus gives us a discription of who we are
    and where we are. Everything produced outside of God is death. Many say
    they want to change and fix something that's unfixable. The people
    of this world's system apart from lives surrendered to God are not dying
    —their dead! Spiritually dead; DOA! Jesus prayed to His Father not to
    take us out of the world but to keep us from evil. In the ancient days
    salt was used as a healing agent and a preservative; Jesus wants us to
    bring healing thru the anointing of His life being revealed thru our lives.

Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord (Sunday 5.18.08 )      
    

 
James 4: Whole Chapter
    
James was addressing people who couldn’t see God in their troubles. 
    
Their teachers were causing quarrels amongst them saying they were in sin 
    
if they had any troubles. This has been the religious argument since the days 
    
of Job! The teachers thought they were no-it-alls. No one knows it all. We have 
    
no right to judge others about their belief system. We are to humbly come 
    
before God and beg for mercy and to ask God for His guidance—He’s the only
    
judge! He’s the only one who’s got it together; and He loves us unconditionally!
    
God is looking for people who will “worth” ship Him—He’s “worth” y of our praise!
    
let’s get our minds off of how right we are and show some compassion on others
    
who don’t believe the same way we do. He that shows mercy will find mercy!

Wannabe Teachers (Sunday 5.4.08)    
    

 

James 3: 1-2, 13
    
Maturity means it isn’t our nature to deliberately offend those around us 
    
on purpose. We show others our wisdom by our actions and behavior—not our 
    
religious mumbo-jumbo! God expects us to be content in any circumstance. 
    
If we are teaching others to be content but then can’t control ourselves when  
    
we are away from church then we are hypocrites or in the Greek—we are actors!

What good is my religion? (Sunday 4.27.08 )     
    

 
James 2:14; John 14:12
    
What do my deeds say about my religion? Many believers today 
    
are deceiving themselves if they think the proof of being right 
    
with God is “religious works” or performing signs and wonders! 
    
Jesus said, “the works that I do shall you do also.” (John 14:12) 
    
This means that we are to reveal God’s very own nature and ZOE life 
    
to those around us just as it was the mission of Jesus to do. 
    
False ministers can produce signs and wonders! But they cannot produce
    
God’s attributes! Jesus said many will come to Him and say, “didn’t 
    
we do these things in Your Name?” Then he’s gonna say, “Get away from Me,
    
I never knew you!”

Developing Equity (Sunday 4.13.08)    
    

 
James 1: 19-22
    
People might come up to us and say mean things like, "You'll never 
    
amount to anything...You‘ll never do this...You can't do that...Look 
    
how messed up you are." We try to protect ourselves by building walls. 
    
God is saying, "It's OK to open up." It’s not what you have or haven’t done
    
or what people say or think about you. Allow God to change and transform 
    
you—to pick you up right where you are—to put His equity in your life!
    
He has placed great value in you—You’re important to God!

The Fruit of Obedience (Sunday 4.6.8 )    
    

 
James 1: 12-20
    
What's the fruit of the Spirit? love, joy, peace, patience, 
    
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. 
    
When we walk in these we are developing more of God's nature. 
    
We are a kind of firstfruits for others to enjoy and  find God. 
    
He wants to display His fruit thru us! As we walk and obey God 
    
we are manifesting His fruit. We were created in His image and 
    
likeness. We are to be quick to hear, slow to speak & slow to wrath
    
—all qualities of God's nature! Obedience is so God can display 
    
Himself thru us. It is not for condemnation. We are in right 
    
relationship thru the cross. Jesus obeyed His Father. We now can 
    
obey God thru Jesus!

The Trying of your Faith (Sunday 3.30.08)     
    

 
James 1: 1-15 
The old saying that certain people must be blessed of God 
    
because they are prosperous. Others were pointing to the poor 
    
or the sick and saying, they must be cursed of God because 
    
they have little or nothing. James came by and said, You have 
    
it all wrong! It's not what you have or have not that determines 
    
if you are blessed by God. God has provided everything you need 
    
to make it thru the trials. Temptations are trials of your faith
      
to prove if your faith is genuine.

Count it all Joy!  (Sunday 3.16.08)     
    

James 1: 1-7 
We don’t have the ability to praise God everyday; but when we 
    
focus and meditate on Him, we can walk thru anything! This is 
    
part of the dominion of God. We have dominion in all situations. 
    
It is a mindset; we are to operate in God’s mindset. Have His 
    
thinking process—Count it all joy when we find ourselves in 
    
difficult situations. Why? Because, we are not alone in our troubles
    
and we find God is there and guiding us with His wisdom!

"That the God of Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, 
    
may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge 
    
of Him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened;..." 
    
(Ephesians 1:17-18).  This is the on-going prayer of our heart, 
    
both for ourselves, and for all who read this book.  It is written with 
    
the hope that it will serve as a confirmation to that which God 
    
sovereignly reveals to you.  May you ever BEHOLD HIM! 

    

That which we have shared is but a glimpse into truths which thrill 
    
the heart as we turn from the negative approach that is normally taken 
    
in the study of the book of Revelation.  Having read books that have 
    
tried to set forth chronologically a fulfillment in natural events, and found
     
that such did not minister life within, we now share from a different
     
perspective.  We argue not with other men, we simply share of the Spirit
     
and character of that which has been quickened to our understanding. 
      
It is not a running commentary upon every verse, nor a definitive study
     
of the book as a whole - rather, we offer only those insights which He has
     
given us from those passages which He has quickened.  Surely, 
    
"in the ages to come He will shew the exceeding riches of His grace in His
     
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."     (Ephesians 2:7).  There
     
is a progressive walk in coming to KNOW HIM more, indeed, 
    
"The path of the just is as the shining (morning) light, that shineth more 
     
and more unto the perfect day."     (Proverbs 4:18).  Bless His name!

Cosmos (Sunday 3.09.08)     
    

Matthew 13:24
    
Cosmos—A belief system apart from God; this world’s pattern or 
    
way of thought for survival. God’s belief system is the exact opposite
    
—It’s the Upside-down Kingdom. God’s not limited to our 
    
perception of life—He is much more broad minded than that! Many 
    
people have a distorted view of God. Did you know that God is here  
    
right now? Not only in churches but in bars, pool halls and clubs
    
wherever we are—God is there! Someone at a bar might say, “I don’t
    
want to come to church—I’d be a hypocrite.” But there aren’t perfect 
    
people in churches. God’s kingdom is just the opposite. Paul said, 
    
“I’m gonna boast in my failures and weaknesses.” God’s grace is sufficient. 
    
Paul is saying, I’m the number one idiot! This is just where God wants our thinking!

Repentance was never intended to beat people
     
up by domineering the innocent seekers of God into shame. 
    
Jesus came to restore mankind back to the way His Father 
    
had originally designed things to be. After returning 
    
from the desert temptations Jesus began to preach,
    
“to Herald”     *meaning, A royal or official messenger,
     
esp. one representing a monarch in an ambassadorial capacity. 
    
Nicodemus asked, I was born into this religious mindset, 
    
How can I have a new mindset? *Fraud told of the id
    
the basic level of our soulish nature. Jesus came to 
    
reinstate the dominance of the sprit over the soul and the body; 
    
which only comes as a result of the Lordship of Jesus Christ!

Who told you Jesus is the Son of God? We must be born of God!
    
To become part of the Kingdom of God we must be "in Christ"
    
We've been brought back to the position and original design 
     
before the Fall of man-it's as if we've never been sinners and
    
we've never sinned! To repent means we are to return to 
    
the relationship man had with God in the beginning-ZOE Life!

The first thing I have to do is to admit that I'm my own problem.
    
After that then we come to church, come to God humbly, and we're on
     
the right track. We might be messed up, but that's ok, that's where 
    
God wants us-totally dependant upon Him for our sustenance, requiring
    
His aid for sustaining our life. Then can we say, "Can I be me and you 
    
still love me?" Jesus said on the cross, "Paid in full"-it is finished! 
    
Colossians 2: 6-"If you live in Me-abide in Me, then it's finished!"

doing two things: you are living in the character of Jesus
    
and in the authority of Jesus.  You do so when you are born
    
again—or born from above; We become ambassadors of God’s
    
Kingdom on earth and we have the legal authority of Jesus to act

I do not want to as a minister to ever—ever—become spiritually abusive 
    
because of a certain authority I do have within our particular body. 
    
By going over this book, hopefully we will get a clear understanding 
    
of what a lot of us have gotten into in the past. It will also clarify 
    
our some of our feelings over what we have experienced in the past and 
    
to keep us from being snared. It's a way of equipping ourselves, guarding 
    
our hearts and a way of helping one another “To recognize and  escape
